K-Kids are alive and well and now boast 32 3rd, 4th & 5th graders. They were very busy in February. In addition to their regular meetings they did the following:
February 1: made Valentine Cards and then delivered them to the Guardian Angel Assisted Living Home on February 15th. Residents seemed to enjoy this very much. This is the second year K-Kids have done this.
February 12: K-Kids held their 2nd annual Baby Food Drive at Albertsons collecting over 600 lbs of baby food and other items. Tuesday, February 15th, several K-Kids delivered baby food to the Valley Food Bank and took a tour of that facility. They now have a better understanding of what a food bank is and who it benefits. The remainder of the baby food was delivered to the Barker Learning Center. The Barker Learning Center was most appreciative! Way to go K-Kids!!
February 14: K-Kids in conjunction with Liberty Lake Elementary PTSA, ASB and Kiwanis held a community wide Tsunami Relief Fund Raiser and collected over $1300 for UNICEF. WOW, Way to GO!
March 1: K-Kids will sort plastic Easter Eggs for the upcoming Easter Egg Hunt. K-Kids will also sell pancake tickets for the annual Kiwanis Pancake Feed. Last year K-Kids sold over $500 in tickets!
